Who we are...

PhoenixPlace is an independent specialist provision offering educational and vocational opportunities to young girls from KS3 to KS4 in Southwark. Our school aims to provide a nurturing & therapeutic environment (which many of our girls have had a lack on if their lives) and personalised educational pathways (to help them re-engage back into learning) and be part of a school community. Our students often have had a negative experience regarding school which impact on their self-esteem and access to learning.

Our job is challenging but rewarding as we see progress in our students over time and they are able to leave with qualifications to prepare them for adult life.

We aim to support pupils, improving literacy & numeracy skills, communication, self-esteem, life skills, and employability skills through programmes that will improve the emotional, behavioural, mental well-being and provide prospects for young girls through additional specialist and community services.

Our unique location allows us to offer pupils a wide range of exciting opportunities within the community including on-going work-experience opportunities.

What we offer The foundation of what we offer is built upon ensuring a positive, safe, therapeutic & nurturing environment which includes small classes and highly motivated and experienced teachers & supporting staff.

We support our pupils by offering individual academic and mentoring support, pupil/family counselling, access to external courses and accredited key skills and GCSE courses, which are delivered on site or through links with colleges, community organisations, businesses & specialist services according to individual need.
